Spank You, Beach Brawl!
GRR played an intensely physical game on Saturday, April 4, versus the Beach Brawl Sk8r Dolls on their home turf in Fort Walton Beach, a five-hour drive from Gainesville. Stocky Balboa and Silverback Sally bench coached, with Black-Out Brady captaining and Grizzly Madams taking the co-captain position.
Hard hits, rough falls and grand slams from Laura Ingalls Piledriver and Suzie Bonebreaker were the name of this game. Falling just short of victory, GRR left with 70 points to Beach Brawl’s 79, though all the players hugged it out at the after-party.
“I am so proud of our league tonight,” said Ms. Rebel, founder and president of GRR. “We played one of our best games ever, and are stoked on how much progress we’ve made since Sunshine Skate. I can’t wait to bout Beach Brawl again.”
