Thurs., 9/16: Public Mixed Scrimmage
Join the Gainesville Roller Rebels, the ladies of Ocala Cannibals Roller Derby and the gents of the Magic City Misfits for roller derby in the raw on Thursday, Sept. 16, at the Alachua County Fairgrounds (2900 N.E. 39th Ave.). Doors open at 7 p.m.; we’ll be mixing up teams from all three leagues and scrimmaging from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Remember to bring your own chair, as seating is not otherwise available. Please note that coolers and other large containers are not allowed inside the main building, and alcoholic beverages are prohibited — but we do encourage you to bring your own water/sports drinks, because it is h-o-t in there this time of year!
While there is no charge to attend this event, GRR is asking for donations from the community to send to Peaceful Paths Domestic Abuse Network. Every little bit helps, and many of these items can be purchased for less than $5.
