A Saturday bout?! YOU HEARD RIGHT, FOLKS! The claws come out on Saturday, March 13, as GRR takes on the Tallahassee Rollergirls’ Jailbreak Betties, on a mission to recover from their loss to GRR at the end of the 2009 season.

Alachua Co. Fairgrounds’ (2900 NE 39th Ave.) doors open at 6:45 and the bout begins at 7:30. The venue does not have seating, so bring your own chair or picnic blanket; track-side (aka rink floor) seating available for 18-and-up.

UPDATE: NO ALCOHOL ALLOWED WITHIN THE BUILDING. Concessions will be available. (Note: Bring cash for concessions and cool GRR merchandise like tees, tanks, totes and more!)

Join GRR at The Atlantic (15 N. Main St.) on Saturday, Feb. 13, at 10 p.m. for the announcement of our new team names — and a pre-Valentine’s Day bash!

Featuring guest performances by The Early Twenties, Moonbeard and DJ Ernie Hotsauce. Admission is $5 for 21-and-up and $7 for 18-20.

In recent months our league has grown exponentially — which is awesome! We now have enough skaters to field two teams for the league: an A-level team and a B-level team. This is where the Roller Rebels’ fans come in.

GRR’s two new teams are looking for the most bad-ass team names to take with them to the track. Submissions will be narrowed down to 10 finalists, all of whom will be invited to the name-unveiling party (date TBA) to rub elbows with their favorite Roller Rebels. If their name suggestions are chosen by the league, up to two lucky winners will each receive one GRR merchandise pack and season passes for two to all 2010 GRR home bouts*!

On Saturday, Dec. 19, join GRR for the first annual Black & Blue Ball — a derby prom — at Atlantic Nightspot beginning at 10 p.m. OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!

Come for the off-skates derby festivities, stay for the drinkin’ and dancin’! Dress in your finest black and/or blue duds and prepare for awesome.

Featuring The Ones To Blame, Jump Radar and DJ Thomas.

ADMISSION: $6 – 21-and-up; $8 – 18-20.
