REBEL OF THE MONTH QUESTIONS

Roller derby name and number:  Copper Chaos #29

Roller derby position – on the track:  Blocker, people have a hard time moving me – mostly

Roller derby position – off the track:  Fresh Meat Liaison – because it’s easy for me to talk to people & hopefully I make our new skaters feel welcome & included.  And I’m also Treasurer because I’m organized & responsible *sigh*

How long have you been involved with roller derby and/or GRR?  Less than a year

How did you come up with your name and number?  Copper because my hair is red & Chaos because it’s so opposite of what I am in my non-derby life that I’d like to embrace some chaos in this aspect of my life.  And #29 because it’s the atomic # of Copper

Do you have any pre- or post-bout rituals?  Pre-bout – I usually get so flustered & anxious that I have a minor meltdown that consists of losing my temper with Mr Chaos & some form of crying – so ridiculous really.  Post bout – decompress while helping clean up

What is your favorite thing about playing roller derby for GRR?  I no longer feel lost – long answer short.

What is your most memorable GRR roller derby experience?  The Clermont

If you had a theme song, what would it be?  I can’t say this would be my “theme song” but the song I hear in my head when I’m not listening to audiobooks is You’re the First, the Last, My Everything by Barry White

Aside from roller derby, what are you passionate about?  My husband, kids & our furry babies, Yoda, Jackson & Alley

What would GRR fans be surprised to know about you?  I ride a motorcycle when I’m not driving my minivan

What makes you a Rebel?  People don’t look at me & think, “Roller Derby, motorcycle, tattoo, etc”  But that’s me & that’s only a fraction of what makes me a Rebel.
