Roller derby in Gainesville is BACK!
Join GRR and the ladies of Greater Jacksonville Roller Derby for GRR’s season opener — “Barbies vs. Goths” — on Sunday, April 19, at Skate Station Funworks in Gainesville.
Due to the new venue, ticket prices are as follows: $8 in advance (ages 13-and-up) at Hyde & Zeke Records (402 NW 10th Ave.) or Skate Station; $12 day-of at the door; 12-and-under get in free.
Doors open at 6:30, live music with WHISKEY & CO. begins at 7 and the bout begins at 7:30. It’s best to bring your own chair, but limited table seating will also be available. Track-side (aka rink floor) seating available for 18-and-up. Concessions will be available from Wally’s CafĂ© inside Skate Station.***
As part of GRR’s pledge to give back to the community, in conjunction with this bout Gainesville Roller Rebels is hosting another blood drive with LIFESOUTH (ages 16 and up). The Bloodmobile will open at 6 p.m. to make sure no donor has to miss a minute of the action inside. BONUS: The first 10 on-site blood donors get into the bout free — and receive Pabst Blue Ribbon swag (21-and-up only, while supplies last)!
After the bout, head right across the parking to SPLITZ Bowling Center for the after-party.
***PLEASE DO NOT BYOB! Skate Station is not allowing alcohol in either the parking lot or inside the rink building. You may, however, buy and consume adult beverages inside SPLITZ Bowling Center’s bar before and after the bout. GRR sincerely apologies for the inconvenience.
