The ESOL Closet at Gainesville High

The ESOL Closet works to help families with their material needs so that their children can focus on learning and succeeding in life. How can you help? By donating everything for the house, including food and cleansers.

Bread and Roses Women’s Health Center is a women-owned and operated abortion provider and women’s health clinic located in Gainesville, Florida. Bread and Roses provides safe, compassionate, and individualized abortion care in a comfortable and supportive environment. We believe that access to quality healthcare is a right, and we strive to provide care without judgment. We acknowledge the process that brought you to us, and we champion YOU and your ability to make the best decisions for yourself. 

Unspoken Treasure Society (UTS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering LGBTQ+ individuals—especially people of color—through trauma-informed care, peer support, HIV-centered services, and holistic community outreach. Rooted in equity and restorative justice, UTS builds spaces of belonging and advocacy to ensure every voice is heard and valued.

A Girls Place empowers girls to grow courageous, strong and self sufficient. They inspire our girls to celebrate themselves—their minds, their hearts, and their physical well being. Girls Place girls become independent women who embrace diversity, express their ideas, rise above obstacles, enhance their communities, and lead those around them. Girls Place believes all young girls should be inspired, challenged and nurtured to become their very best.

At Florida Diabetes Camp, all kids living with type 1 diabetes can build skills to manage their condition, gain confidence and independence, feel included and safe, and find friendships and support that last a lifetime. 

The ESOL Closet at Gainesville High

ESOL Closet

The ESOL Closet was established in 1999 with a donation of one couch. Since that time we have helped hundreds of families by giving them what they need to begin their lives in a new home. We have helped immigrant families, unhoused families who have been placed in homes, veterans who have been given an apartment, abused women and migrants.

Gainesville Rabbit Rescue

Gainesville Rabbit Rescue’s mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and adopt out rabbits to loving homes, as well as educate current and potential rabbit owners.

Operation Catnip

Operation Catnip works to improve the lives of cats and the communities in which they live by spaying, neutering, and vaccinating free-roaming cats, preventing the births of kittens, mentoring other programs around the country and training veterinarians to save America’s community cats.

Their mission is to foster and enhance the well being and visibility of transgender, bisexual, lesbian, gay, queer, questioning, intersex, and asexual (LGBTQ+) persons, and to promote public understanding and affirmation of people of all gender expressions and sexual orientations, inclusive of race, ethnic background, nationality, economic stability, spirituality, age, and ability.
